I/O configuration between PAC Control and groov RIO do not match; -56 "Invalid Address" error

Applies To:

GRV-R7-MM1001-10

Versions Affected:

2.0.0 to 2.0.1

Resolved In Version:

2.0.2

Symptoms:

If you have "Watchdog timeout after <x> second(s) of no communications" enabled for a groov RIO I/O unit in your PAC Control strategy, when you go into Debug mode and run your strategy, you may see the following:

  • Error code -56 "Invalid Address" for chart <system: _INIT_IO> in the controller's message queue.
  • When you check the I/O configuration in groov Manage (from groov Manage Home, click I/O Channels, then the channel number), it does not match the I/O configuration in PAC Control.

Workaround:

Do not enable communications watchdog from within PAC Control (through the Edit I/O Unit window). Instead, after you download and run the strategy, enable the communication watchdog in groov Manage:

  1. On the groov RIO, log in with a user ID that has administrator privileges.
  2. From the groov Manage Home page, click I/O Config.
  3. Enter a value in the Watchdog Timeout (ms) field.
  4. Click Save.
