OptoDataLink won't log any data for a link that has an invalid tag or IP address

Symptoms:

If one of the tags for an Opto 22 device in a link is misspelled or doesn’t exist in the strategy in the controller or if one of the tags for an Opto 22 device is at an IP address that doesn't exist or is unreachable, OptoDataLink may indicate the link is running, but it may fail to log any data—even if all of the other tags and/or IP addresses configured in the link are valid.

If the link is configured to log to a file, the file will be created but it will be empty.

This issue can be caused if you change a tag name in your strategy, and then download the updated strategy to your controller. It can also happen if you manually edit the OptoDataLink project XML file.

Also, the IP address can become invalid if the Opto 22 device is not powered up when the link starts, or if the device goes down while the link is running. It can also happen due to intermittent network issues.
