Some full-feature groov I/O modules may disrupt communication with groov I/O simple and serial modules

Applies To:

Firmware for the following affected groov I/O modules:

  • GRV-IDC-24
  • GRV-IDCI-12
  • GRV-IACDCTTL-24

Versions Affected:

Modules manufactured between November 10, 2024 and February 10, 2025 with serial numbers from 984512 up to and including 991333.

Resolved In Version:

1.4a

Symptoms:

If an affected groov I/O module is inserted in one of the first five slots (positions 0 through 4) of the chassis, groov simple modules in positions 0 through 7 and groov serial modules (only supported in positions 0 through 3) may encounter communication issues and be unable to connect. The module LED color may or may not indicate an issue.

Workaround:

Rearrange the modules on the chassis based on the following:

  • If you have groov serial modules (only supported in positions 0 through 3) and groov simple modules in positions 0 through 7, do not place an affected module in positions 0 through 4 of the chassis.
  • If you do not have groov serial modules but have affected groov modules in positions 0 through 4, do not place groov simple modules in positions 0 through 7 of the chassis.
After rearranging the modules, some modules may not recover until:
  • Power to the chassis is turned off for several seconds and then turned back on
  • The affected groov simple modules are removed from the chassis and then reinserted (hot-swapped)

Resolution:
