Generate N Pulses with N set to 0 starts a TPO when using groov I/O
Applies To:
Firmware for the following groov EPICs:
- GRV-EPIC-PR1
- GRV-EPIC-PR2
Firmware for the following SNAP PACs:
- SNAP-PAC-S1, SNAP-PAC-S1-FM, SNAP-PAC-S1-W
- SNAP-PAC-S2, SNAP-PAC-S2-W
- SNAP-PAC-R1, SNAP-PAC-R1-FM, SNAP-PAC-R1-W, SNAP-PAC-R1-B
- SNAP-PAC-R2, SNAP-PAC-R2-FM, SNAP-PAC-R2-W
Firmware for SoftPAC
Versions Affected:
For groov EPICs: All versions prior to 3.6.0
For SNAP PACs: All versions prior to R10.5g
For SoftPAC: All versions
Resolved In Version:
For groov EPICs: 3.6.0
For SNAP PACs: R10.5g
Symptoms:
In your PAC Control strategy, if 0 is specified for the Number of Pulses parameter of the Generate N Pulses command, then no TPO pulses should be started. However, groov I/O incorrectly treats a 0 as a signal to start TPO pulses.
Workaround:
Verify that the number of pulses to execute is a positive, non-zero value before using the Generate N Pulses command.
Resolution:
Opto 22 has resolved this issue and will include the fix in an upcoming release.
