Digital Inputs and On & Off Time Totalization appear stuck

Applies To:

Firmware for the following groov RIOs:

  • GRV-R7-MM1001-10
  • GRV-R7-MM2001-10

Versions Affected:

All versions

Symptoms:

This issue affects any channel in the range 0-1 that is:

  • configured for 5-30 VDC digital input or Switch Input, Powered Digital Input;
  • configured with the On-Time Totalizer or Off-Time Totalizer; and
  • where the input frequency exceeds the working range,
you may observe the following:
  • groov Manage reports quality code 24 and does not remove it when the input frequency drops to within the working range.
  • The digital input state is not updated.
  • The On & Off latches are not updated.
  • The On or Off Time Totalization continues to increase (as long as a toggling input signal is present) but the value is less accurate.

Workaround:

Try one of the following options:

  • Change channel type to something else, then change it back.
  • Reset the I/O to defaults (from the groov Manage Home page, click I/O Configuration > Reset I/O to Defaults), then reconfigure all the channels and any PID loops you may have configured.
  • Reset the module by clicking Restart (from the groov Manage Home page, click System > Restart).

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue and will include the fix in an upcoming release.
