CODESYS May Not Recognize GRV-CCANI-2 Ports After Power-Up

Applies To:

Firmware on GRV-CCANI-2

Versions Affected:

All versions prior to R1.0c

Resolved In Version:

R1.0c plus an update to the Loader (see NOTE)

Symptoms:

With this issue, you may observe any of the following behaviors when you have a GRV-CCANI-2 module in your CODESYS project:

  • a CAN driver error in your CODESYS project
  • CAN communication is not received or sent
  • the Rx0 LED on the module's lid does not blink (indicating no communication)
NOTE: In addition to installing version R1.0c of the firmware, if your module has Loader version 1.0a through 1.0g, you will need to return the module to Opto 22 for additional reprogramming. Very few modules fall into this category, so please check the Loader version before contacting Product Support. (From the groov Manage Home page, click I/O, select the GRV-CCANI-2 module, click Info, then Details. Look at the version number on the Loader row.)

Workaround:

  1. Log into groov Manage with a user ID that has system-level privileges.
  2. Click Controller > CODESYS Controller.
  3. Click Disable to disable the controller.
  4. Wait for groov Manage to indicate that the controller has been disabled.
  5. Click Enable to restart the CODESYS controller.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
