Firmware update fails for firmware files larger than ~2 GB

Symptoms:

You are more likely to see this issue if you try to install a firmware file that has "ignition8" in the filename without first installing the corresponding firmware file that has "ignition7" in the file name.

When you try to install a firmware file larger than approximately 2 GB, the update will fail and display the error message: The client failed to upload the system update file.

Workaround:

This issue is fixed starting in version 3.2.0; however, the fix isn't available until after 3.2.0 (or higher) has been successfully installed. Firmware files with “ignition7" in the filename are typically less than 2 GB in size, so first install an "ignition7" version of 3.2.0 (or higher) in order to get the fix. Then you can install a firmware version that is bigger than 2 GB. (Firmware files larger than 2 GB are typically files with "ignition8" in the file name.)

For example, to install the grv-epic-pr1-ignition8-3.2.0-b.44.field.bin file, first install the grv-epic-pr1-ignition7-3.2.0-b.44.field.bin file.

Resolution:
