Some tags showing incorrect values after GRV-EPIC-PR1 firmware update

Applies To:

Firmware for GRV-EPIC-PR1

Versions Affected:

Any version prior to 2.0.0

Resolved In Version:

N/A

Symptoms:

NOTE: This KB article is for informational purposes. This issue is not a defect in GRV-EPIC-PR1.

If you set up MQTT with Sparkplug on your GRV-EPIC-PR1 to transmit from an OptoMMP device, after you install GRV-EPIC-PR1 firmware version 2.0.0, you may notice that some of the tag values seem incorrect. This may be due to the following changes introduced in version 2.0.0:

  • The "Eu" tag was renamed to "Value" to be consistent with the Ignition naming convention.
  • The information previously transmitted in "units" tag was been moved to transmit as a property of a tag from an analog channel. The name of the property is "Units".
If you had been running with firmware version 2.0.0 or higher and you apply a version of firmware lower than 2.0.0, you will see the same symptoms, but you will have to make different changes:
  • Check "Value" tags; they may need to be renamed to "Eu" tag.
  • Check the tags from analog channels. If they have a "Units" property, you may have to change these properties to "units" tags.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue, modify your application to read from the new tag names or properties as described above.
