SNAP 8-Ch -20mA to +20mA Analog Current Input Module

Production Specification

The SNAP-AIMA-8 provides eight channels of -20 mA to +20 mA current input. The module does not supply loop excitation current. Although the eight channels are not isolated from each other, the module is transformer isolated and optically isolated from other modules and devices.

Part of the SNAP PAC System, the module mounts on a SNAP PAC rack with a SNAP PAC brain or rack-mounted controller. Analog, digital, and serial I/O modules can all be on the same rack. Such an I/O unit is also well suited for PC-based control or for use as intelligent remote I/O for an Allen-Bradley Logix PLC system, such as ControlLogix, MicroLogix, or CompactLogix.

Compatibility: This module can be used only with SNAP PAC R-series controllers, SNAP PAC EB-series Ethernet brains, and SNAP PAC SB-series serial brains.

NOTE: This module does not provide channel-to-channel isolation. If you need an isolated module, see the two-channel SNAP-AIMA-i module.

Build your system in the SNAP I/O Configurator.

Case Study: AAQUA NV

Antwerp-based AAQUA NV has specialized in engineering and constructing industrial wastewater treatment plants since 1999, with customers all over the world. Where possible, the company also adds value to customer waste, either by recycling wastewater to drinking water quality or by capturing the energy in the water to reduce fuel costs.

Initially AAQUA often worked with a subcontractor to automate treatment, but in 2005 they began offering automation themselves. To do so, the small company needed an automation system that was Ethernet based, flexible, reliable, offered remote access, and was easy to learn.

In this case study, read how they found that system and how they use it today.

Opto 22 RoHS 3 Statement of Compliance - Restriction of Hazardous Substances

This document is a statement of compliance with the EU Directive 2015/863/EU, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS 3). This document lists Opto 22 products that comply with the substance restrictions of the RoHS 3 directive.
