About Kepware

KEPServerEX by Kepware is the industry’s leading connectivity platform, designed to let you connect, manage, monitor, and control diverse automation devices and software applications through one user interface.

KEPServerEX leverages OPC (the automation industry’s standard for interoperability) and IT-centric communication protocols (such as SNMP, ODBC, and web services) to give you a single source for industrial data.

KEPServerEX offers the broadest range of drivers available, supporting devices across verticals within industrial automation. Although most drivers connect directly with hardware devices, some are designed to connect with other applications—such as databases, custom software applications, or other OPC servers.

Integration with Opto 22

Kepware’s Opto 22 Ethernet driver provides an easy and reliable way to connect Opto 22 controllers—including SNAP PACs and groov EPIC—to OPC client applications. The driver supports I/O points, point configuration, variables, scratchpad, tables, variables, and PID control loops.

Additionally, Opto 22’s browser-based HMI groov View, which is included in the groov EPIC edge programmable industrial controller, can be configured to connect to any OPC UA Server, including KEPServerEX.

What problems can it solve?

Many plants, factories, and facilities have a variety of PLCs and devices from disparate manufacturers. If you’ve tried to share data between these systems, you know that not all brands support all fieldbus-level protocols. Programming and maintaining one-to-one, protocol-specific connections across multiple dissimilar controllers is cumbersome and expensive.

KEPServerEX addresses this problem by providing a centralized application to exchange data between multi-vendor devices and control applications. You can use its library of 150+ drivers to connect process, machine and facility data through a standardized communication layer, simplifying interoperability.
