IoT Solutions World Congress - Barcelona, Spain
Opto 22 participated in the IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Considered the leading global event on the Internet of Things (IoT), the show took place October 25 - 27, 2016 at the Fira Gran Via venue.
It is an international expo with attendance of over 8,000 visitors, focused on IoT solutions in manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, energy, innovation and technology.
Opto 22 and local distributor and integrator Optomation Systems exhibited in Hall 1 Stand F725.
Opto 22 showed the IoT-enabled wind turbine demo, along with other IoT product solutions.
Smart Industry Conference 2016 - Chicago, Illinois

Opto 22 had a week long exhibit at Industrial Automation North America (IANA), September 12 - 17, 2016. This show was co-located with IMTS 2016. The IANA event is an international trade fair for factory and process automation, system solutions and industrial IT. It offers the newest technology in factory, process and building automation up close, along with networking and business development opportunities.
Opto 22 engineers were on hand to answer questions, provide product demos, introduce you to groov and discuss some of our IoT product solutions. Visitors were able to see how easy it is to build their own mobile operator interface using groov, and could try it on a smartphone or tablet!
IoT Evolution Conference & Expo - Las Vegas, Nevada

The Automation Conference 2016 - Chicago, Illinois
Opto 22 returned to Chicago in May for The Automation Conference 2016. This annual event is for professionals in manufacturing and packaging, including automation and control engineers, software engineers, as well as manufacturing systems/IT and networking managers. The two day conference featured workshops and presentations covering HMI, manufacturing intelligence, remote access, automation system cybersecurity and the Industrial Internet of Things.
Visitors to our booth were able to see a groov demo and had an opportunity to try it on one of our interactive iPad stands! The schedule of technology workshops and discussion panels included participation from Opto 22. Director of Technical Marketing, Matt Newton, presented two sessions of the tech workshop called "The Internet of Things in Automation: What you need to know and why".
OpenIoT Summit - San Diego, California
You've been hearing about the Internet of Things (IoT), also called Industry 4.0, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), or machine-to-machine (M2M). What is your IoT strategy? Opto 22 participated in the OpenIoT Summit April 4 - 6, 2016 to help businesses learn more about developing a successful IoT solution.

Automation Technology Expo West 2016 - Anaheim, CA
Opto 22 once again participated in the Automation Technology West Expo, February 9 - 11, 2016. This large scale automation event provides an opportunity to see automation applications spanning aerospace, medical, automotive, electronics, food and beverage, and industrial products. Over 2,000 exhibitors were on hand to give live demonstrations of the newest products and technologies. The Anaheim Convention Center was the site for ATX West, co-located with seven other design and manufacturing shows.

ISA Process Controls Symposium - Houston, Texas
Opto 22 was in Houston, Texas, November 9 - 12, 2015. We participated in the ISA Process Control & Safety Symposium. The conference covered instrumentation, communications, control systems, safety and security topics aimed at engineers, technicians, and plant managers from the oil and gas, refining, chemical, petrochemical, and other process industries.
In addition to panel discussions, training classes, and keynote presentations, a 3 day expo featured several leading suppliers showcasing the latest technologies. Opto 22 Regional Sales Manager, Brian Barrett, provided a demo of our groov mobile operator interface, as well as the SNAP PAC System — a complete automation system with controllers, software and I/O for applications of any size.
Smart Industry 2015 - Chicago, Illinois
Opto 22 was a part of Smart Industry 2015. This event was called “the conference where the innovative minds of industrial leaders and technologists convene”. Attendees had the chance to hear from several keynotes and speakers from top manufacturers and industrial technology companies, and learned how organizations can directly leverage IIoT practices, tools and technologies.
The conference also featured a two day expo for networking with manufacturing leaders, industry solution providers and early adopters who helped apply their IIoT insights. ISA WWAC Symposium 2015 - Orlando, Florida
Opto 22 returned to Orlando, FL this summer for the ISA Water/Wastewater and Automatic Controls (WWAC) Symposium. This three day event focused on the challenges of automation and instrumentation in the water and wastewater sectors. The symposium featured presentations, networking events and a supplier showcase.

Instrumentation 2015 - Carson, California
Opto 22 recently participated in Instrumentation 2015. This is considered the largest West Coast event for training and networking in process control, instrumentation and process automation.
Opto 22 exhibited at the expo, as well as presented the Mobile in Automation training session. Attendees could try out a demo of groov, a mobile operator interface for any automation system, and learned how easy it is to build your own mobile app — no programming or coding needed.

CSIA Conference 2015 - Washington, DC
Another chance to see a live demo of groov this year was at the Control System Integrators Association Industry Expo. The expo showcased the most recent advances in control system integration, and featured over 60 industry suppliers, manufacturers and service providers, demonstrating the latest products and technologies.
The CSIA Conference took place April 29 - May 2, 2015, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia, with the CSIA industry expo on Thursday, April 30th.

AHR Expo 2015 - Chicago, IL
Opto 22 started the new year in Chicago January 26 - 28th at McCormick Place for the 2015 AHR Expo: The World's Largest HVACR Marketplace. With over 1900 exhibitors, this show was the perfect opportunity to see the latest products and technology trends in the HVACR industry. The event attracts thousands of attendees including contractors, engineers, dealers, distributors, wholesalers, OEMs, architects, builders, industrial plant operators and more. Along with the expo, there were educational seminars, workshops and new product presentations available.
Opto 22 hosted a groov booth in the South Hall’s Building Automation and Control Showcase. Demonstrations of groov showed how easy it is to build a mobile interface for any automation system, using only a modern web browser, then view it on any of your mobile devices.

Opto 22 spent May 20 - 21st at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare. The conference was exclusively for automation professionals across all industries - processing, manufacturing, and packaging. Conference and presentation topics included controls security application, integrating automation with the enterprise via the cloud, battery-free AGVs, automating testing technology, using embedded FPGAs to maximize energy usage via smart grids, real-time data acquisition, and training tomorrow’s workforce.

OPC Day Europe 2014
Opto 22 was pleased to be a part of OPC Day Europe 2014. This event took place May 14 - 15, 2014 at Festo AG & Co. in Germany, and both OPC members and non-members were encouraged to attend.
Attendees heard from the experts about OPC technical updates, information modeling and certification. The agenda included an extensive list of keynote speakers scheduled to present on various OPC-UA related topics, helping you learn how to increase market share for your products using OPC technology.
For those not familiar with OPC-UA technology, the OPC-UA pre-conference provided a technical introduction and helped prepare for the main conference.
Internet of Things - North America
Opto 22 was proud to be a sponsor of a brand new trade show in Milwaukee, WI, the Internet of Things - North America. This event focused on cloud-based control of devices, equipment and operations for the industrial, manufacturing and enterprise environment.
Attendees at the two day expo learned about new solutions in M2M and device connectivity, cloud-based monitoring and control of equipment, data acquisition, Ethernet connectivity and more. Opto 22's groov booth demonstrated how this mobile interface is an important part of new technology in your industry. ARC Industry Forum - Orlando, Florida
Opto 22 particpated in the 18th annual ARC Advisory Group Industry Forum, on February 10 - 13, 2014. This year's event was entitled Industry in Transition: The Information Driven Enterprise. The event focused on new strategies for using information driven technologies to ensure business success.
The forum provided an opportunity to learn about new technologies, practices and standards. Attendees were able to see the latest product releases as well as network with industry peers, managers and executives.

Real-Time Mobility Solutions for Remote Monitoring and Control
Opto 22 was pleased to be a part of this Sprint-hosted event in Livonia, MI, where the latest mobile technology was demonstrated for remote monitoring and control of system equipment. Attendees learned how to reduce equipment downtime, respond to problems, and deliver real-time information to field staff or the factory floor.
This Real-Time Mobility event also provided an opportunity to watch a live demonstration of groov, Opto 22's new mobile interface that allows you to control any brand automation system from any mobile device.
Opto 22 took part in a festive and informative industrial control and automation event in October, where we joined Advanced Control Solutions, as they hosted TekToberFest 2013.

Sustainability and Small Business Summit
More small and medium-sized businesses are making the investment in sustainability. Representatives from Verizon, the U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Small Business Administration hosted a series of panel discussions focused on how these businesses can benefit from going green and how to get started. This event took place September 25, 2013, at the Artisphere in Arlington, VA.

CSIA Conference 2013
Stay on the Ball was the theme of this year's Control Systems Integrators Association (CSIA) Executive Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida, May 1-4, 2013.
The conference provided an opportunity to learn about new applications and system integrator programs, exposure to CSIA best practices and benchmarks, and a better understanding of the business side of control system integration.
The event included an industry expo showcasing the latest advancements in control systems and applications.

Association of Energy Engineers Annual Power Lunch 2013
Arun Sinha, Opto 22's Director of Business Development, attended the Southern California AEE power lunch to meet with energy industry colleagues and gain insight and program updates from Southern California Edison. Presentations included topics of 2013 rate increases as well as demand response programs.

World Energy Engineering Congress 2012
Opto 22 was in Atlanta, GA at the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC). The largest energy event of 2012 took place Oct. 31st - Nov. 2nd at the Georgia World Congress Center.
The WEEC featured a series of conferences, seminars, and an expo hall showcasing the latest technologies in energy efficiency and management.
Opto 22's booth had a live demonstration of our energy monitoring products, including the OptoEMU Sensor and the OptoEMU Sensor-DR, with demand response capability. Expo attendees could see how the Sensors deliver live energy data online to help reduce energy costs.
The 2012 WEEC was hosted by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and presented by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
Southern Automotive Conference 2012
We partnered with Opto 22 distributor, Advanced Control Solutions, at the 2012 Southern Automotive Conference. The SAC took place October 11 - 12, 2012 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
This year's conference explored the importance of people, place and progress for the future of the Southern automotive industry. Original equipment manufacturers, suppliers and service providers were in attendance for two days of education and networking.
The ACS booth showcased the OptoEMU Sensors, along with other automation and control products, including the Opto 22 SNAP PAC System.
eSight Energy Annual Summit, 2012
"Energy Waste is History!" This was the theme of the 2012 eSight Energy Annual Summit at the Chicago History Museum on August 14, 2012.
The event brought together energy professionals to share ideas on energy management and reducing utility costs. Experts and leaders in the industry demonstrated how energy savings can be achieved through the eSight Energy program.

Energy Inc. Summit 2012 - Charlotte, NC
Opto 22 had another opportunity to show what the OptoEMU Sensor can do to help reduce energy costs for commercial and industrial facilities.
Mark Cianciosa and Arun Sinha attended the April 2012 Energy Inc. Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was a chance to meet with energy industry leaders in that region, as well as attend an energy product expo. Southern California Edison Contractor Fair 2012
Norma Rodriguez and Arun Sinha represented Opto 22 at the 2012 Southern California Edison Contractor Fair on March 30th. Hosted by SCE's Energy Efficiency Group, this annual event brings together approved contractors and vendors that work with SCE customers on energy efficiency projects.
Opto 22 had an information table showcasing our energy monitoring and control products, the OptoEMU Sensors. Arun was also one of the featured speakers, presenting the Opto 22 Energy Management Case Study.
World Energy Engineering Congress
Opto 22 visited Chicago's Navy Pier this fall for the WEEC expo. The event was an opportunity to learn how economic forces, regulatory developments and new technologies can shape your organization's energy future.
It was a chance to watch the OptoEMU Sensor energy monitoring unit in a live demonstration, and showed how the Sensor delivers live energy data online to help reduce your energy costs.
This national energy event took place October 12-13, 2011, and was presented by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and hosted by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
Offshore Technology Conference - Brazil
Opto 22 took part in the Offshore Technology Conference in Brazil, October 4 - 6, 2011. Founded in 1969, the Offshore Technology Conference is the world's foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection.
Arun Sinha hosted the Opto 22 booth located in the USA Pavillion. Arun shared information on the SNAP PAC System and the OptoEMU Sensor.
The event was also an opportunity to meet with companies interested in being an Opto 22 distributor in Brazil.

Opto 22's Benson Hougland was a panel speaker at this year's Renewable Energy Technology Conference & Exhibition. The expo took place September 20 - 22, 2011 at Washington D. C.'s Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The panel topic of discussion was "Smart Meters and Customer Engagement - Opportunities Not Realized?"

Western Riverside Energy Summit
The Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) sponsored an energy event with the U. S. Small Business Administration on Thursday, September 8, 2011. The Summit's theme was "Bringing businesses and local government together - Expanding energy efficiency opportunities."
Opto 22's Arun Sinha and Ben Orchard were there to showcase the OptoEMU Sensor and demonstrated how it can help achieve cost savings through energy monitoring.
This local event took place at the City of Temecula Civic Center. Attendees discovered more about local reach codes, funding opportunities, and learned about energy efficiency opportunities through California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC).
eSight Energy Annual Summit
"Kick Off Your Energy Savings" at Chicago's Soldier Field. The eSight Energy event took place August 24, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This free event brought together energy professionals from various industries to share energy management practices.
Topics included methods of energy data analysis to reduce energy usage and costs. Opto 22 was there to demonstrate the OptoEMU Sensor and showed how it can help provide energy cost savings to the industrial and commercial sectors.
I & C Expo 2011 - San Diego, CA
The International Society of Automation presented the Instrumentation & Controls Expo on August 18, 2011, at San Diego's Town & Country Resort and Convention Center.
This one day event featured exhibits, classes and seminars on the latest process measurement, control and automation technologies.
The day included a tour of Sea World's control systems, sponsored by Opto 22.
West Coast Energy Management Congress
Opto 22 attended the largest energy conference on the west coast of the U.S., the West Coast Energy Management Congress trade show, which took place June 15-16, 2011, at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Opto 22's Benson Hougland and Ben Orchard showcased the OptoEMU Sensor energy monitoring unit, and the live energy data the Sensor delivers online.

Connectivity Week Highlights Energy Management
Connectivity Week brought together many people concerned about managing the energy their businesses use.
Opto 22's Benson Hougland, Vint Cerf (father of the Internet, V.P. of Google, and Governing Board member of the NIST Smart Grid Interoperability Panel), and others spoke about energy efficiency monitoring in Santa Clara, May 24-27, 2010.
Control Systems Integrators Association (CSIA) 2010 Executive Conference
Opto 22 was a Silver Sponsor for the CSIA Executive Conference, held in Seattle from April 29 through May 1, 2010. Opto 22's Arun Sinha talked with control system integrators about energy efficiency monitoring and industrial control products.
"The ability to monitor energy usage of systems and machines in a remote location, over the web from an iPod was the hot topic," Arun reported. "One integrator thought this would be great for a building automation project he'll be working on in the near future."
Integrators were also interested in Arun's demo of the OptoEMU's (Energy Monitoring Unit's) ability to connect to an Allen-Bradley PLC.
IBM Pulse 2010
Energy management systems were the focus at IBM Pulse 2010. Hiro Ueda and Takao Miura from our Japanese Partner/Distributor Asahi Electronics Company (AEC) and Arun Sinha and Benson Hougland from Opto 22 demonstrated energy management using the SNAP PAC System with IBM® Maximo. Magyar Regula 2009 in Budapest
Hungary's major Automation Exhibition, Magyar Regula 2009, took place March 24-27, 2009, at the SYMA Exhibition Centre in Budapest.
Peter Bona and his team from our Hungarian distribution partner Com-forth Kft. welcomed attendees and showed the latest developments in Opto 22's successful SNAP PAC System industrial control products line.
IO4AB Technical Seminars 2008
Using Opto 22's SNAP I/O as intelligent, remote I/O in an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or CompactLogix system is a new way to expand I/O in an A-B PLC system and add process control functions—without additional stress on the controller and without programming.
Our IO4AB Technical Seminars, jointly sponsored by Opto 22 and our local distributors, demonstrated SNAP I/O in an A-B PLC system and answered questions from engineers and technicians in several cities across the United States: Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Charlotte, Portland, Houston, Dallas, Buffalo, Strongsville, Andover, and Philadelphia.
More seminars are planned for 2009.
SPC/IPC/DRIVES Electric Automation Exhibition & Conference
Opto 22's Gerhard Kreiling showcased intelligent remote SNAP I/O at the SPC/IPC/DRIVES Automation Exhibition and Conference in Nuremberg, Germany in November 2008.
Ethernet in Automation was one of the key topics at the conference. As part of the ODVA booth, Gerhard spoke with conference attendees about the benefits of using SNAP I/O with EtherNet/IP-based PLC systems, such as Allen-Bradley Logix systems.
Rockwell Automation Fair
In November 2008, Benson Hougland and Arun Sinha from Opto 22 attended Rockwell Automation Fair 2008 in Nashville, Tennessee. The Fair's program included over 50 technical sessions, more than 20 hands-on labs, and 8 focused industry forums.
Benson and Arun talked with fair participants about how Opto 22 distributed, intelligent I/O can extend their Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
EtherNet/IP Free Informational Seminar
In October, industrial Ethernet and how EtherNet/IP can work for you was explained at this free seminar from ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendors Association). The seminar included classroom sessions and a free buffet lunch.

ISA Expo 2008
Focused on the technology and techniques of automation and control, ISA EXPO 2008 in Houston, Texas, was organized around six core central themes. The expo provided attendees opportunities to explore key technologies, discover professional growth, and interact with like-minded professionals.
Opto 22's Arun Sinha presented "Ethernet for Industrial Automation" to an interested audience of engineers and technical users.
American Water Works Association—2008 Educational Extravaganza
In August 2008, Opto 22 Distributor Pacific Technical Products (PTP) demonstrated Opto 22 solutions for the drinking water industry at the 2008 Educational Extravaganza, sponsored by the California-Nevada Section of the AWWA (American Water Works Association).
Over 600 engineers, technicians, and plant operators attended, most of them from water districts in Orange and Riverside Counties. At the Opto 22/PTP Booth, Brian Fisher and Alex Colomy from PTP and Arun Sinha from Opto talked with visitors about:
