Accessing string variables or string table elements with ioDisplay or OPC Client may cause error

Symptoms:

A sporadic, Microsoft windows exception error message entitled “OptoOPC.exe”, may be reported by OptoOPCServer if an ioDisplay project or an OPC client accesses a string variable, or a string table element from a control engine.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.

The problem is corrected in the file iolib_engine.dll, version R1.3B (1.3.2.1). This updated library may be used with ioProject version R7.0 and R7.1. Earlier versions of ioProject must be updated to ioProject R7.1 or newer to correct this issue.

To verify the iolib_engine.dll file version on your system, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the default C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\OptoCom directory, and right mouse click on the file. Click Properties, and select the Version tab.
