Incorrect SNAP-AOD-29 period measurement by serial B3000

Symptoms:

Setting the TPO period to a value results in a smaller period used by the B3000.

Example: The TPO period is set to 5, but the TPO period used is approximately 1 second instead of about 5 seconds.
