Variable names matching OptoScript command names may cause compiler problems in ioControl

Symptoms:

In ioControl, if a chart, subroutine, or variable name matches an OptoScript command that is used in the strategy, the OptoScript compiler will report syntax errors that may be difficult to find. For example, a strategy with a chart named “AbsoluteValue” will have odd compiler syntax problems if the OptoScript command AbsoluteValue is used in the strategy.

Workaround:

In the example explained above about a chart named “AbsoluteValue”, the recommended chart name would be “chtAbsoluteValue.”

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
