‘Add item’ returned from ioDisplay if I/O point is not supported

Applies To:

ioDisplay Professional
ioDisplay Basic

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R7.1h
Problem is resolved in version: R8.0a PAC Display

Resolved In Version:

Problem is resolved in version: R8.0a PAC Display

Symptoms:

In ioDisplay Basic, ‘Add Item’ errors may be returned and the item is not scanned when an unsupported point feature is requested. (The MMIO Scanner, an underlying application that helps provide data to ioDisplay, does not support the feature.)

The behavior in ioDisplay Professional differs in that there is a manual workaround to scan the unsupported I/O features. De-selecting an I/O unit from Configure→Runtime, in the I/O Units tab causes the desired point feature to be scanned.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue. PAC Display Professional and Basic correctly support any available I/O point feature.
