PAC Display Runtime crashes when displaying a historical alarm log file with both ANSI and Unicode records

Applies To:

PAC Display Basic
PAC Display Professional

Versions Affected:

Versions affected: R9.0a through R9.6e

Resolved In Version:

R9.6f

Symptoms:

PAC Display Runtime will crash when trying to load a historical alarm log file that contains a mix of ANSI and Unicode records.

This issue happens when both types of records are saved to the same alarm log file, and your project is configured to automatically display the records each time a Historical Alarm window is opened  (Configure > Alarming Setup > Logging tab > Reload History Alarms).

Workaround:

Manually remove either all of the ANSI records or all of the Unicode records so that only one type of record is left in the historical alarm log file.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
