Versions Affected:

Versions affected: All versions of PAC firmware through R9.5d
Problem is fixed in version: FW R9.5e

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: FW R9.5e

Symptoms:

Note: This is a controller firmware issue. Due to the specific method it uses to scan data from the controller, groov appears to be the only product that exhibits this issue.

When a TCP/IP session is disconnected from the host task of a controller (default port 22001) while groov is communicating with a controller, groov may briefly display the yellow triangle with exclamation point icon, indicating a communication timeout.

Any of the following actions can expose the issue, because they connect to a controller’s host port at TCP:22001 by default:

  • Exiting from PAC Control’s debug mode.
  • Closing a PAC Terminal Status or Terminal Window.
  • Terminating an OptoOPCServer connection to the controller.
  • Terminating a PAC Display HMI instance connected to the controller.
  • Terminating a communication session with the PAC-DEV-CONTROLLER-DOTNET SDK.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.
