Response time should improve when points used in a PAC Display project are moved from a serial I/O unit to an Ethernet I/O unit

Applies To:

PAC Display Basic
PAC Display Professional

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R9.5c
Lower versions may be affected
Problem is fixed in version: R9.6a

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R9.6a

Symptoms:

When graphics in a PAC Display project use points that were created in a PAC Control strategy on a serial I/O unit (such as a SNAP-PAC-SB1), the strategy and its associated control engine should respond more quickly if you subsequently move the points to an Ethernet I/O unit (such as a SNAP-PAC-EB1). However, instead of improving, the response time remains about the same, because the points continue to be scanned through the controller rather than being scanned directly from the Ethernet I/O Unit.

Workaround:

Change the I/O unit in PAC Control from a serial I/O Unit to an Ethernet I/O Unit (instead of moving the points).

Alternatively, you can manually modify each affected graphic by double-clicking the graphic in PAC Display, clearing its Dynamic Attributes, and then re-assigning the dynamic attributes.
