groov Server stops functioning; NoClassDefFoundError exceptions appear in message log

SYMPTOMS

You are unable to access groov Build or groov View using groov Server for Windows. When you open the Message Logs, you see errors similar to this:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/opto22/groov/shared/PlatformInformation

While groov is running, some files may be unpacked into the Windows temporary directory.  Some PC utilities delete files in that directory as part of a periodic clean-up process. If groov files have been deleted, groov cannot function correctly.

WORKAROUND

Determine whether any software is running that will delete files in the Windows temporary directory, and prevent it from doing so.
