Versions Affected:

Problem affects versions: Firmware R9.4a and R9.4b
Problem is fixed in version: Firmware R9.4c

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: Firmware R9.4c

Symptoms:

This issue involves an Ethernet resource leak; when resources are used up, no new Ethernet connections are possible until you turn the controller off and back on again.

For example, if you are using communication handles in PAC Control that contain invalid destinations (such as an invalid local IP address or an unreachable address on another network), sockets may not be properly closed when connections fail. Over time, Ethernet resources are used up and the controller can no longer be reached over Ethernet.

This issue was discovered internally.

Workaround:

Cycle power to the controller.
