Versions Affected:

Problem affects: Firmware, all versions
Problem is fixed in version: PAC Firmware R9.4c

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: PAC Firmware R9.4c

Symptoms:

On a SNAP PAC brain or rack-mounted controller, using the streaming area (memory map address 0xF03FFFC4) with data sizes greater than 2051 bytes will cause buffer overflows, resulting in silent corruption and/or a reset of the brain.

If corruption occurs without a reset, the streaming configuration area will no longer be able to stream.

Data sizes of 2052-2095 bytes cause silent corruption, requiring a reset before streaming will work again.

Data sizes of 2096 bytes and greater cause resets, generally within 1-10 repeats of the stream (for example, if the stream time is set for 1 second, it will reset within 1-10 seconds). Some of these resets are preceded by the Fatal Error blink code (5 red blinks). Others simply reset the controller or brain.

Workaround:

Avoid configuring Streaming with more than 2051 bytes.

If you suspect that corruption has occurred, reset the brain to re-enable streaming.
