SYMPTOMS

When using the PAC Control command Synchronize Clock SNTP, if the specified time server address can't be reached, the chart or host task may become unresponsive. Anything that prevents a connection to the specified time server, including a bad address, an unplugged cable, or an unresponsive server, may cause this issue.

A power cycle is required to recover.

RESOLUTION

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.

WORKAROUND

Attempt to open a COM handle to the time server address. If the connection is opened successfully, close it and do the time sync; if the open fails, do not attempt the time sync.
