E1 brain handles the n Timer resolution command differently than the B1 does

Applies To:

E1

Versions Affected:

Problem affects versions: Firmware R1.1d and lower
Problem is fixed in version: R1.1e

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R1.1e

Symptoms:

The Optomux n command expects two digits of data, and since the E1 brain board was designed to Optomux standards, it accepts only two digits.

However, in practice the B1 brain board would accept up to four digits of data for the n command and throw away any extra leading digits. The E1, in contrast, throws away any extra trailing digits. Because of this, a B1 handles ">8Dn0B0A??" as ">8Dn0A??" but an E1 handles it as ">8Dn0B??"

When a B1 is replaced by an E1, the last two digits of data are cut off. As a result, timer resolution is only 2.56 seconds instead of the correct 100 ms.

Workaround:

Use two digits for the data field when using the n command.

Resolution:
