"Error Opening Output File" response while attempting to update Firmware in SoftPAC

SYMPTOMS

When attempting to update firmware while using SoftPAC Monitor R9.3d on a Winodws 8 computer, an error message is received stating that the firmware file can not be opened.

CASE STATUS

Opto 22 has resolved this issue.

WORKAROUND

If this problem occurs, it is likely that the current installation of SoftPAC has become corrupted.

Follow these steps:
  1. Re-install SoftPAC.
  2. Manually launch SoftPAC Monitor it by right-clicking the icon used to launch Monitor and select Run as Administrator.
  3. In SoftPAC Monitor, click Update Firmware.
  4. In the Update Firmware dialog box, click Browse to locate the update file on your hard drive.
  5. Click Open and then Yes to install the update. A success message appears.
  6. Click Start SoftPAC unless it has already restarted.
  7. Download your strategy to the SoftPAC control engine and run it.
