When configuring WLAN on groov Box, spaces in SSID cause Box to lock up

SYMPTOMS

You're in groov Admin, configuring the WLAN interface so that a wifi network can communicate with the groov Box. The groov Box becomes unresponsive and appears to be locked up.

CAUSE

If the network's SSID name contains any spaces, the groov Box is unable to handle the configuration request.

WORKAROUND

Install groov Admin version 1.570.29, which fixes this issue. Go to manage.groov.com and follow directions to get the update.

If you cannot update to the newer version of groov Admin:

  1. Follow steps in the groov Box User's Guide to restore the Box to defaults. The Box will be able to communicate again over ETH0 or ETH1.
  2. Rename the SSID to contain no spaces. Or enter the SSID with double quotes around the name.

RESOLUTION

This issue has been fixed in groov Admin version 1.570.29, available for download at manage.groov.com.
