The welcome screen does not appear when groov is started the first time

Follow the steps in the Workaround section.  

SYMPTOMS

When groov is started the very first time, the groov App login page appears instead of the "Welcome to groov" screen.

CAUSE

The affected groov Boxes were not restored to the default settings after being tested at the factory.

WORKAROUND

Restore the groov Box to the default settings as follows:

  1. Turn the groov Box off by momentarily pressing the power button, and waiting for all LEDs except the PWR LED to turn off.
  2. Start the restore defaults operation by pressing the power button and holding it until the STOR LED blinks orange and the SYS LED blinks green.
  3. Wait for the STOR SYS LEDs to stop blinking.
  4. Wait another 30 seconds. This step is important because of a bug (see KB82937) that causes the LEDs to stop blinking before groov is restored to the default settings.

The groov Box defaults have been restored. Now you will see the groov Welcome screen and the first-time setup flow.
