Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in versions: R8.5e and R9.0c
Problem is fixed in version: R9.1a

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R9.1a

Symptoms:

I/O units set up with Ethernet link redundancy are disabled if the primary Ethernet connection to an active controller is disconnected. Error message -25 Port not locked may be reported in the controller message queue.

When Ethernet I/O is set up with both a primary and secondary address, any disruption in one of the connections results in switching communication to the other connection. This works correctly when there is an interruption in communication on the primary Ethernet connection to the I/O unit, but not if there is an interruption to the primary connection to the controller. All I/O units remain disabled even when both controller connections are restored.
