Multiple clock synchronizations may cause Runtime problems

Applies To:

PAC Display Professional
PAC Display Basic

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.2m
Resolution is included beginning in version: B8.2p, Build date 4/6/2010
Problem is fixed in version: R9.0a

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R9.0a

Symptoms:

If both of the time synchronization options Enable Auto Synchronization and Synchronize at Runtime Startup are selected in PAC Display Configurator, and it is set up to synchronize everyday, and Runtime is started after the configured Auto Synchronization time, then sometimes this causes PAC Display Runtime to lock up. The project cannot connect to the controller and data is not updated. Attempting to close the project at Runtime causes the lock up.

The following Configurator dialog (Configure>Runtime, Control Engine tab) shows where the two synchronization options are checked.
