Possible intermittent operation from surface mount style B6 after a bus reset

Applies To:

B6

Versions Affected:

Surface mount style brain boards  9159, 9159A, 9159B

Symptoms:

Surface mount style B6 brain boards may exhibit intermittent operation after a Pamux bus reset command is sent from the computer.

Workaround:

Add a 10 ms delay in software after a Pamux bus reset.

Example:

Using any Pamux toolkit, the following example code shows how to open a handle to the B6 with the PCI-AC51, and where to add a 10 ms delay for the surface mount style B6 to work consistently:

    iError = PamuxPCICardOpen(&hAdapter,0,FALSE);
    if(iError != 0) {
    printf(“Open failed, iError %d\n”,iError);
    }
    **** The following sleep is required for operation of the affected B6 boards ****
    sleep(10);

For adapter cards such as an AC28 that does not use a communication handle, simply add a 10 ms delay after any instance of a Pamux bus reset.
