Data logging does not work if log interval is set to zero

Applies To:

SNAP-PAC-R2
SNAP-PAC-EB2

Versions Affected:

Problem was introduced in version: R7.0a

Symptoms:

Data logging on SNAP PAC brains doesn't work if the Logging interval in milliseconds (0 = log once) is set to 0 ms. By setting the logging interval to 0, the information should be logged once to the log file.

To reproduce the problem:

Configure a digital event to set a scratchpad bit to 0 when point 0 is on.

  1. Configure Data Log Point 0 as follows:
    Email is disabled
    Trigger on = 00000000 00000001
    Address of log value = 0xF080 0000
    Data format = Integer
Logging interval in milliseconds = 0
  2. [image1]

  3. Click Apply.
  4. Click Status Write, highlight Store configuration to flash, and click Send Command.
  5. Cycle power to the brain.
  6. Inspect the brain (Tools→Inspect).
  7. Click Digital Point and click Turn On to turn on point 0.

There is no entry in the data log. One entry should have been added to the log when point 0 was turned on.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue and will include the fix in an upcoming release.
