Serial I/O units can't be inspected prior to running PAC Control strategy

Applies To:

PAC Control Professional
PAC Control Basic

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.2d PAC Control

Symptoms:

Serial B3000 and SNAP-PAC-SB I/O units configured in a PAC Control strategy cannot be inspected prior to running a PAC Control strategy, even if you try to manually enable the I/O unit from Debug mode. Error messages are posted to the controller message queue and imply there is a connection problem. The following is an example of the messages shown in the controller message queue.

Workaround:

To work around this problem, put a breakpoint on Block 0 of the Powerup chart in Debug mode before the strategy is started. Run the strategy. The serial port settings are initialized and the serial B3000 I/O units can now be inspected.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue and will include a fix in an upcoming release.
