Possible 'Invalid address' errors, or no response from I/O unit

Applies To:

SNAP-PAC-S1
SNAP-PAC-S2
SNAP-PAC-R1
SNAP-PAC-R2

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.1a
Problem is fixed in version: R8.2a

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R8.2a

Symptoms:

An I/O unit may go offline, or the controller error queue may show -56 Invalid address errors for an I/O unit that has the Watchdog timeout option set in the Edit I/O Unit window. The error occurs because another controller or application such as PAC Manager, acknowledges the Power Up Clear (PUC) flag for an I/O unit that does not support high density I/O modules. Because the currently running controller did not receive the PUC, it mistakenly registers the I/O unit as a high-density module supporting device. Errors are reported when the controller attempts to configure the I/O unit at startup.
