SNAP-PAC-R control engines' STAT LED may remain dark after firmware downloads or restarts

Symptoms:

The SNAP-PAC-R1 and SNAP-PAC-R2 controller's STAT LED may remain off after firmware downloads or restarts.

Symptoms include:

After downloading firmware over Ethernet, the LED remains off and the unit never reboots until power is cycled. Once power is cycled, the STAT LED turns on and the controller can be inspected.

After using the PAC Manager Tools→Install Firmware via Ethernet option to download firmware, the message "Firmware update complete, but restart could not be confirmed." appears and the unit never reboots. The STAT LED remains off.

If the Restart Device from powerup command is sent from the PAC Manager Inspect Opto 22 Device window (Tools→Inspect, Status Write), the STAT LED turns off and stays off. The Inspect window returns the message Restart Device from powerup, Command successfully performed., but the controller does not restart.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue. If you have a SNAP-PAC-R control engine with the described symptoms, contact Opto 22 Product Support to return the unit for repair.
