Load cell modules may need reconfiguration if used without PAC Control

Applies To:

SNAP-PAC-R1
SNAP-PAC-R2
SNAP-PAC-EB1
SNAP-PAC-EB2
SNAP-UP1-ADS
SNAP-UP1-M64
SNAP-UP1-D64
SNAP-B3000-ENET
SNAP-ENET-S64
SNAP-ENET-D64

Versions Affected:

Problem was discovered in version: R8.0e for SNAP-PAC I/O
R7.2d for Ultimate I/O
R7.0a for Ethernet I/O

Problem is fixed in version: R8.1a for SNAP PAC I/O, R7.2h for Ultimate I/O

Resolved In Version:

Problem is fixed in version: R8.1a for SNAP PAC I/O, R7.2h for Ultimate I/O

Symptoms:

Load cell configurations are lost when power cycled to the I/O rack. Although the settings are stored to flash on the brain, the stored values are not sent to the module upon powerup unless they are re-written to the memory map. For example, this problem does not occur when PAC Control is used because the configuration settings are re-written by the strategy. The problem would be seen if only PAC Manager is used to configure and inspect the module after a power cycle to the brain.

Resolution:

Opto 22 has resolved this issue for SNAP PAC and Ultimate I/O brains.
